BodyTools Daily Skin Care Guide For Men:
5 Steps To Great Looking Skin

Hey guys! You too can have: dry or oily skin, blackheads, ingrown hairs, and red, irritated spots from shaving! You also can get wrinkles. What you don't want or need, though, is a complex regimen or a cabinet full of chemicals. But the bottom line is: if you want to look good you got to deal with your skin.

At BodyTools we've made it simple for today's male to have healthy looking skin by creating a naturally based product line that is carefully formulated to work with minimal effort and maximum effect. To compliment our skin care line we have designed an easy-to-follow daily skin care routine that focuses on these five steps: cleanse, shave, moisturize, repair and protect.

5 Steps To Great Looking Skin
Step 1: Cleanse Your Skin Twice A Day.

Choose the right products. BodyTools moisturizing face and body wash.

Using only gentle, water-soluble cleansers will thoroughly break down the dirt, grime and excess oils on your skin and face and but will not irritate your skin or leave it feeling dry. Keeping your face clean is also essential if you want to avoid blackheads, spots and an oily shine.

Cleanse your face twice a day; once in the morning before shaving to cleanse the skin and soften the beard. Use again at the end of the day to remove pollution, dirt and grime. Always use warm but not hot water. Hot water or strong soaps dry out the skin.

Step 2: Get The Perfect Shave.

Choose the right products: BodyTools shave cream with aloe and tea tree oil

Use the proper shave preparation and apply it correctly.
Only use products that will keep the skin moist and soft while promoting moisture retention A thin layer of your shave preparation is all you need and if possible leave the shave cream on a minute before you begin to shave.

There is no substitute for warm water and a good blade.
Warm water or steam softens the bristles of your beard and opens up the pores on the skin (If the water is too hot it will dry out your skin). So shaving right after you shower will give you both a less painful and closer shave. With a blunt blade you will end up with redness and blotches on your face and neck. As soon as you feel a blade is not performing properly, replace it.

Use the proper shaving method.
Shave in the direction of the hair growth over your face only once. Shaving against the growth and going over the same surface more than once can lead to ingrown hairs and razor burn. Shave using short strokes, rinse the blade often and be careful not to press too hard, especially around the neck.

Step 3: Moisturize Your Skin Twice A Day.

Choose the right products: BodyTools SPF 15 oil free fragrance free face guard moisturizer, or SPF 15 citrus body armor, both with anti-oxidant powerblend

A moisturizer is essential to keep skin supple and smooth. Moisturizers can't make your wrinkles disappear but they can, temporarily make wrinkles less noticeable and stop your skin from flaking and feeling tight and uncomfortable.

Moisturizers can prevent new wrinkles from forming if they contain ingredients for complete UVA/UVB protection (which means at least an SPF 15 rating with at least one of the following ingredients: Parsol 1789, Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide). So a great moisturizer can do double duty by providing protection from UVA and UVB rays this can help stop further damage to your skin which can lead to dry skin, wrinkles and skin cancer.

Moisturizers work best when used just after you shower or bathe so you can trap in the water that has just been absorbed. So after showering either at home or at the gym use a moisturizer all over your skin. Pat your body leaving it a little damp and then apply the moisturizer. After shaving and rinsing your face, again pat the skin and apply a moisturizer. In the evening after cleansing, use a moisturizer over your entire face and body.

Step 4: Repair Yourself.

Choose the right products: BodyTools SPF 15 after shave repair and protect with 3.0% tea tree oil and acetylsalicylic acid

Shaving scrapes away layers of the skin, dead cells and natural oils from the skins' surface. So there is a real need to re-moisturize and heal the skin. Razor burn is most easily caused by skin irritation and inflammation from the friction of shaving After shaving, if in-grown hairs occur the bumps they cause may itch and burn.

Completing your shave routine with a moisturizer that contains potent anti-inflammatory ingredients such as acetylsalicylic acid (stabilized aspirin) will help to alleviate the redness and razor bumps/burn. If you are concerned about preventing or managing acne use an aftershave product that has antiseptic ingredients such as tea tree oil at a minimum 3.0% concentration.

Step 5: Protection From The Elements.

Choose the right products: BodyTools SPSF 15 after shave repair and protect, BodyTools SPF 15 face guard, BodyTools SPF 15 citrus body armor

Your face gets constant exposure to UV radiation from the sun. The single most important cause of premature skin ageing, wrinkles and skin cancers is sun exposure. This is more than just a cosmetic issue. One in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer in their lifetime and this year alone more than 1 million new cases of skin cancer will be diagnosed. Over 95,000 of these will be new cases of melanoma (the deadliest form of skin cancer). Every 60 minutes one person dies of melanoma in the United States. And bad news for men: Older Caucasian males have the highest mortality rates from melanoma.*

*A special note to men: Make an extra effort to examine your skin, especially on your upper back, for signs of melanoma. A recent study found men are much less likely to discover skin lesions than women.

To protect your face, you need a great, reliable sunscreen product that provides complete UVA/UVB protection that you can use all day-every day from head to toe. For complete UVA/UVB protection a sunscreen product must be formulated at least at the SPF 15 protection level and also contain one of the following ingredients: (Parsol 1789, Titanium Dioxide, or Zinc Oxide.)
